Andrew Levinson, MD, MPH, FCCP, is the co-director of the Brown University Health Simulation Center difficult airway course. In addition, he is the assistant medical director of the intensive care unit at The Miriam Hospital. He is the director of Brown’s Critical Care Medicine Fellowship program and has been a member of the pulmonary, critical care, and sleep division faculty at both Rhode Island and The Miriam hospitals. Dr. Levinson has demonstrated research and clinical interests in efforts to reduce potential harms to critically ill patients, including through the use of simulation training and point-of-care ultrasound. He was the co-principal investigator of a hospital-funded performance improvement program designed to reduce the complications of intubations in Brown University Health medical ICUs using medical simulation training and difficult airway equipment, and served as the quality officer for the division of pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine.
